U12 Alpine
10 and 11-year-olds
Program Overview
The U12 Alpine Team, designed for graduates of the U8/U10 Alpine program and athletes eager to pursue Alpine Ski Racing, continues a recreational racing focus while progressing towards competitive levels, emphasizing ski racing fundamentals and etiquette. Training encompasses gate sessions, skill drills, and guided free skiing, aiming to refine racing skills.
Athletes participate in the Tahoe Race Series and Far West Races. The Tahoe League Race Series (TRS) is a Tahoe local ski race series that provides the athlete with an introduction to ski racing and is a platform to build and develop ski racing skills. Far West Racing (FW) is a progression from TRS, offering athletes a more competitive and focused age-grouped Alpine Ski racing.
The goal of the U12 program is to progress athletic development and prepare them for the U14 Team.
Maintaining a US Ski and Snowboard membership under the U12 category is mandatory for all athletes in this program.
Program Schedule
The U12 program operates from late November until the last Far West Race in the spring, offering sessions five days a week, including Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM, as well as Saturdays, Sundays, and designated holidays from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Pre-season dryland training is available on select dates from September to November.
For detailed information regarding dates and pricing, please refer to the registration page.

Families are required to provide specific equipment for the program, including two pairs of skis for Giant Slalom (GS) and Slalom (SL), properly fitting boots with 60-80 Flex, both GS and SL poles equipped with pole guards, a hard-ear helmet, goggles, waterproof gloves, shin guards for SL, and optionally, a speed suit for racing. Athletes are encouraged to have a ski backpack and water bottle for training sessions.
