Welcome to our new Diamond Peak Mountain Bike CAMPS! These camps are designed to provide athletes with the opportunity to learn about our environment, build mountain biking skills, and enjoy the beautiful Tahoe summer we're lucky to experience. With these camps, we aim to continue to develop each athletes skill, grit, and integrity and to inspire and empower each of our athletes to achieve their personal goals in athletics and in life!

What's included in these camps?

Diamond Peak Mountain Bike Camps offer an exciting week of skill-building, trail exploration, and fun for young riders. Each day is designed to improve each athletes mountain biking techniques, while enjoying the beautiful Tahoe landscape. Here’s a quick overview of what a week might look like:

Monday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school for intro activities and games, followed by a ride to the pump track for skill drills.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Load up for a trip to the Incline Flume trail to introduce trail riding.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Tuesday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for the Incline Flume, and begin with a warm-up off the bike. Continue working on skills on the trail.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Continue riding and practicing skills on the trail.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Head back to the middle school for pick-up.

Wednesday:

  • 9:00 am - 1:30 pm: Meet at the middle school, load up for a trip to North Tahoe. After a warm-up, ride the Woop Loop trail with a lunch break along the way.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Thursday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for Tyrolian Downhill, and warm up off the bike. Focus on descending techniques, including body position and braking.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Quick lunch break.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Full run of Tyrolian, working on flow and confidence on descents.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Friday:

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet at the middle school, load up for Tahoe XC, and warm up off the bike. Ride to a fun loop like Antone Meadows, focusing on endurance and trail awareness.
  • 11:00 am - 11:30 am: Lunch break with a debrief on the week.
  • 11:30 am - 1:30 pm: Fun ride back, with challenges and mini-games along the way.
  • 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Return to the middle school for pick-up.

Required and Suggested Equipment

  • Full suspension Mountain Bike
  • Bike Helmet
  • Knee pads, Elbow pads, Back Protector (ski back protector), Flat shoes, Bike Gloves.
  • Water bottle/CamelBak backpack
  • Suggested: Water bottle cage, small backpack, lightweight jacket for changing weather
