Doug, a Colorado native, embarked on his alpine skiing journey at the University of Colorado, where he showcased his prowess as a member of the Alpine Skiing B team. With roots in the esteemed Ski Club Vail during his junior and FIS racing years, Doug's commitment to skiing endured, marking his entry into USSA Masters racing in 1985—a passion he continues to pursue.

As a devoted member of the Diamond Peak Masters Team since 1999, Doug's wealth of experience significantly enriches the slopes. His dedication extends beyond personal achievements, evident in his extensive involvement in various board and leadership positions.

Doug's remarkable board and officer experience encompasses roles on the Far West Masters Board of Directors from 1990 to 1996, where he served as Treasurer from 1992 to 1994. His commitment to Far West Skiing persisted, leading him to the Board of Directors in 2004—a role he maintains today. Doug's contributions extend to the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation, where he served on the Board of Directors from 2001 to 2011 and resumed his role in 2017. Notably, he assumed the presidency from 2003 to 2009.

Beyond administrative roles, Doug actively serves as a race official. Holding the position of USSA Technical Delegate since 2005, he played a pivotal role as the Chief of Race for the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation from 2010 to 2020.

Doug's multifaceted involvement in skiing, spanning both athlete and dedicated board member roles, underscores his passion for the sport and commitment to fostering a vibrant ski community.
