Liz Savage
U14 Head Coach
Liz Savage, an esteemed educator and accomplished ski coach, has profoundly impacted alpine skiing and physical education. Her journey, fueled by a lifelong passion for the slopes, has spanned from New England to international coaching endeavors.
Liz began her educational path with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Plymouth State University in 1996. She furthered her expertise with a teacher certification at Sierra Nevada College and a Level 400 National Alpine Ski Coaching Certification at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon in 2003.
Her diverse career includes roles that shaped her into a multifaceted educator and coach. At Inter Lakes Middle High School in Meredith, NH, she served as a Physical Education Teacher, Class Advisor, Varsity Soccer Coach, and Head Track Coach. She also championed wellness as the Wellness Coordinator for Staff and Summer Camp Director.
In 2004, Liz co-founded Team Savage Ski Racing, where she excelled as Owner and Head Coach. Under her leadership, athletes achieved success on national and international stages. Her coaching roles included International Children's Race Project Coach, National Development System Project Coach, and Western Region Development Project Coach.
Before Team Savage, Liz refined her coaching at Sage Ridge School as a Physical Education Teacher, 8th Grade Level Team Leader, and Head Alpine Ski Coach. She also led as Head Soccer Coach and Head Golf Coach, emphasizing teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Beyond coaching, Liz has contributed to her field through publications, including "Survival of the Fit" by Dr. Dan O'Neil, and advocated for physical education at a New Hampshire Legislature committee hearing in January 2022.
Her exceptional contributions to alpine skiing earned her induction into the Plymouth State Class of 2016 Hall of Fame for Alpine Ski Racing. She received the Panther Award for Athletic Leadership twice and was captain of the Plymouth State Ski Team for two years.
