Development Snowboard Team

Program Overview
We are very excited to have a new snowboard team this upcoming 26 / 27 winter season as part of our DPSEF programs.
This snowboard development program will comprise of two teams - U8 / U12 - working on riding skills with training on beginner through advanced terrain here at Diamond Peak.
Both teams will be working on a strong athletic and balanced stance for riding skills from the start through the finish of the turn.
Linked heel and toe side turns (no heelside heroes) to form “S” shaped turns on both ‘on piste’ (groomed) and ‘off piste’ (ungroomed) snow conditions and terrain.
Switch riding through riding skills progressions.
Introduction to terrain park riding.
Prerequisite:- 1 year (season) riding with parents / family.
- or at least 2 lessons through a resort ski / ride school.
- being able to make a “J” turn to the left and to the right to a complete stop.
- independently able to load and unload a chairlift safely.
Equipment:- snowboard / bindings / boots.
- helmet / googles / waterproof gloves, pants and thin socks.
- personal backpack with layers, sunscreen, water and snacks.
Schedule:- 4 day program / DP opening to closing.
- Wednesday / Thursday afternoons 1 - 4pm
- Saturday / Sunday / Public Holidays 9 - 1pm
Opportunity to train with both the development snowboard team and the development ski team.
A parents/athletes ‘Zoom meting’ will be scheduled in early November to answer any questions or concerns.
